  1. I agree to the classified rules and terms of service
So the answer would be kinda. Talked to a few guys and if I recall correctly. They said it is a Yugoslavian captured gun looks to be all matching. So not sure what to call it but the spring deal on the side of the bolt had the eagle on it and looks as if on the receiver they buffer it down can still see a faint outline

Just for clarification this is a Yugo M48 post war rifle made by Zastavava in what is now Serbia between 1949-1951. The action is shorter than a K98. Bolts are not interchangeable between the two. Merry Christmas 🎅

This rifle is not a M48 post war rifle based on the pictures provided. Its a scrubbed/rearsenaled K98K. Two key items that identify it are the "M.98" on the left side of the receiver (reference Serbian and Yugoslav Mauser Rifles by Branko Bogdanovic, pages 151-152) and the bolt handle is that of a K98K bolt with the angle it is at (unaltered German).

Best way to tell though is to measure between the front and rear trigger guard screws (sometimes called floor plate screws) center to center, a K98K will be 7.835 inches vs a M48 will be 7.62 inches (Brankos book above, pages 90-91). Of course if you have a K98K and M48 the bolt won't work in each others actions, the smaller length one is the M48.

This rifle has had the Yugo Arsenal markings removed on the left side and as far as the bolt stop latch, the markings are German which could have been used or swapped after rearsenal. No biggie, as long as the metal has not been cut its a great rifle for a shooter restoration (minus the scope mount holes which sucks). Plus is the bolt and receiver match.

You may be right and can be tested simply with a bolt.
