I must be undesirable as a potential juror. The one time I actually had to show up to the courthouse, we all filled out our questionnaires, then they had us watch the jury instruction video, which I guess gave them time to review the questionnaires. After the video ended, I was among the first to be dismissed.
You didn't even make it to voir dire???

Live here 20 years I've been called three times within the last five years. The first time they filled all the juries before they got to my number so I just had to sit in the room and watch The Blindside or some other stupid movie for a while.
Second one I was foreman on a DWI case, the guy was pretty obviously guilty from the body cam and other evidence, seemed like a slam dunk, except that there were a couple of people in the jury that just really felt like they had to be important and drag it out all freaking day for some stupid reason. Worst part for me was that even though the guy was guilty his lawyer just did the worst job imaginable and I couldn't help feeling like a halfway decent attorney (or even me!) could've gotten him a not guilty verdict.
Third time involved domestic abuse and they asked if any of us had experience with that. My daughter had just been gotten out of a relationship in part because of They asked me if I'd be able to separate my feelings and just consider the facts of the case and I told him and all honesty probably not, so they cut me.

I actually prefer to serve. Every company I've ever been with has a charge code for Jury Duty, so I still get my regular pay besides the $10/day and mileage. I just prefer to be the one that has the civic mind in the jury pool that keeps the rest of them on task and on the law, not voting by emotions, which has always been the case on every original straw vote I've conducted.
