I have been called for the 10th time in Cowlitz County. I know it's supposed to be random but there have got to be more people in this county so they shouldn't need me every couple of years. Anyone else been this lucky? I have never met a person that has been called more than twice in their lifetime. This will be number 13 for me as I was called three times in another state long ago.

Here in Oregon (10 years) I've only been called once.
In California about once every ten years.

Blessings.

In the last 55 years living in Clark Co., called once. Me and a retired policeman were the first to be dismissed by the defense attorney on the first day of questioning. Had to call in each morning that week but every time it was the same message: not needed.

I get popped every two years, but when they find out that I worked in a hospital as a low level practitioner, and when they find out I have family in law enforcement, I am promptly dismissed.

I have learned over the years exactly what to say to be excused by either the prosecuting attorney or the public defender. At my age, I have been a "victim" of just about everything. :s0112::s0108::s0115:

Just tell them that they have the right man for the job because you can spot a guilty person just by looking at them. After that I'm fairly certain you won't be getting any more jury duty request notifications.

Got summoned a few times in San Diego and was never selected, perhaps because of my military service and/or LEO experience. Long since retired and very interested, I'd love to serve, especially for a week of grand jury.

Call me!

Been called up four times over the last 20-yrs living in Marion County, OR. 5-yrs ago I served 2-days (one day was jury selection, then the next day was adjudicating the case) on a disputed insurance claim. The plaintiff did everything right and was only looking for out of pocket medical reimbursement (she had all the receipts), and not some ridiculous "payday"... we ruled unanimously in her favor. I'm really glad the case wasn't something "disgusting" that involved abusing kids or "body parts"!

Funny thing was, one of the potential jurist was a retired Army Major-General (about my vintage time of service too!) who had the same MOS's (95B MP, and 11B Infantry) that I did over the courses of our careers, and even pulled a tour as the CO at GITMO. They didn't pick him.... LMAO!

Latest call up (the 4th one) was 2-3 weeks ago but I had a high "juror number" that was above the needed cut-off so back into random pool I went!

4 times in Clackamas County and once for the Feds. Now that I am back I expect I will be called again. And as before I will be excused in the first round, because I am an ex-prosecutor and am married to a recently retired career one.

I have been called twice in two months. I'm over 70, so I've asked to be excused, but they keep trying.

That is amazing that you keep getting called. I have to "guess" they must have a higher than average number who just do not respond so they mass send out the ask? Last time I went all I could think of was wow, I would not want to be in the hands of 12 of the people I was with that couple days I was there.

I had to serve on a jury and got to collect $7.43 for my week of time. For some sob story about a dummy woman skinning her knee which resulted in "attempted murder"

Dude ended up getting convicted of assault with a deadly weapon (there was no weapon) and domestic abuse. All because the post menopausal women who outnumbered the rest of us voted together to hang the n****r.

Thought for sure my bald head and camo jacket alone would have gotten out of jury duty since the defendant was black and I definitely look like someone who'd fit in during 1940s German happenings... But nope. To trial I went. What a BS system.

Last time I was there one case was some kid abuser. They pulled a huge bunch of us aside to fill out long questionnaire about such a case. We all had a different color badge and sent back. Couple hours later they came and collected all our badges. Lady told us the creep and his lawyer decided to take whatever deal he had been offered to plea. Guess the responses did not look good for him :s0140:
