Hello Friends,

This is very hard for me to do, but it has to be done. It has been such a hard time for my family, my father especially. He bought the club so long ago and restored it so it wouldn't be destroyed. He never used the club as a shooting range and never tried to really monetize the club. Everything was on the honor system because you aren't just members, you are friends. He just wanted a place for people to go and shoot. He liked talking to the people there and that was all he really wanted. I personally have made a lot of friends through the gun club and will never forget them. I wish there was more we could do, but the gun club is officially permanently closed. Letters went out yesterday to the members. It just isn't feasable to put it back together. We spent a lot of money on lawyers and looked at it from many different angles. It is such a rarity and it was just an honor to have had it. I really don't know what more to say. I appreciate you all!

So sorry to hear this. Was a member for the past couple of years till my membership lapsed about 10 months ago when $ was tight. Was hoping to rejoin when rebuilt post-fire. Was a great /easy place to shoot without some crazy drive.

I'll truly will miss the place. Not just because you were so close to home and I could always find an extra 20 minutes on the way home from grocery store trips for my wife for a quick session - but that damned 50 foot only rule. lol The only thing I thought was a negative - only helped me to become a better shooter today and was a blessing in disguise. I always felt safe there.

I am very sad to hear the closure will be permanent. While I was only there one time, the place was important to many people and the gun community in general.
It was in 1990, I believe when I was applying for a concealed handgun license and we had to demonstrate the ability to handle a handgun safely. The class was held at JCGC. I never would have guessed there could be a gun range tucked away like it was. Truly a special place.

I just got the letter in the mail today, very sad news to hear. Really loved the place. Was a member a decade ago and just moved back to the area and became a member again this year. I'm sorry for y'all I know y'all did everything you could and the legal issues with shooting range inside the city had to horrendous to even attempt to get through. Just a sad day for everyone

Yea, although I do not live in that area I am truly sorry for the owners and all of you who were members.

This appeared to be a really special, 'dyed in the wool' operation and was obviously very special to you all.

I appreciate your sentiment. We are all disappointed with the closing of the club. We never saw it coming to an end like this. It is so helpful to hear the memories and caring from everyone. I truly wish you well.

It's nice that you returned to the club after returning to the area. The letters were hard to send. We wanted the club for the members and it hurts to let them down. I wish there was more we could have done. I never figured a seemingly easy repair would ruin the club. Thanks for your thoughtfulness!
