ITHACA M-49 .22 S, L, LR YOUTH OR SADDLE SINGLE SHOT LEVER ACTION RIFLE

This rifle is in pretty good shape. It shoots straight and is a kick to shoot. It's nice to have a rifle that will accept CB caps or .22 shorts (as well as long rifle). It would be ideal for someone who has kids, or if you want a small plinker that won't weigh you down in the mountains (even the ammo is light weight).

These rifles DO have some collector's value. This one has an engraved stock and I believe the trigger used to be plated, but the plating wore off (now it looks silver). If you are a collector, or just want something fun and different... This is a good cheap option.

This is a link to a price comparison (gunbroker.com). It's starting bid was at $150, and the final sale price was $170.

This is another price comparison (gunsamerica.com). It's starting price is $195.

Oh, yeah, MINE looks better than these two examples.

It's a single shot? The tube underneath the barrel is not the magazine?

Yes, it is a single shot with a modified Martini action. The tube underneath is just for looks, although some carried a cleaning rod inside.

Interesting little rifles that were produced by one or two other manufacturers after Ithaca went belly up the first time.
