I see this:
Target shooters are also encouraged to reduce the risk of wildfire by only shooting into a backstop of mineral soil and having the required fire extinguisher (or shovel and water) ready at hand. After shooting, be sure to check the target area for any signs of fire.
 
Yeah it's kinda weird ... I'm a bit north of that but, last year it was posted no shooting. This year they put up the signs but I don't see no shooting bit. I've heard a few people doing target practice way in the distance.

No where near where it is during the wet season but people are still doing target practice from time to time.

After the good rain we just had the ground is wet but about a half inch below that is dry.

I'm still going to hold off a bit longer.

I figure if I really have an itchy trigger finger I can drive somewhere and shoot some skeet.
