Pretty piss poor training. Any modern electronic device will experience a thermal runaway (fire) if the internal battery is folded or crushed. I partially wrote and reviewed the information my previous employer provided to all airlines. Basically forget the fire extinguisher- won't have any affect on a runaway battery and the material the plane seats are made of won't continue to burn once the device is removed. Every commercial plane in the US is supposed to have a fireproof box on board. The SOP is to place the device in the box and make sure the fire didn't spread to anything that will support a fire - generally passenger clothes or luggage.

So all that "training" they go through and they could not find the damn fire extinguisher ?
With all the electronics on planes now I would have to think this would be a regular training thing to prepare for. DEI hires must be filling those jobs now too. 🤬

Sounds like a crew is scheduled for retraining. I know Hawaiian has those fireproof bags. They look like the bags pizza delivery uses.
