As it relates to guns we often talk about the doom and gloom of gun regulations but compared to much of the world we have a lot of freedoms that I'm thankful for, Fe:

That we can own several guns of many types. And there is a huge selection to choose from at any time.

That we can defend ourselves and carry a gun on our person for this purpose.

That we have a constitution where the right is written in, unlike Fe Australia where they lost all of their guns overnight, or other countries where the regulations are really bad.

Love and the example of how to love from a Creator.

Gratitude - the ability to be thankful and a reminder to do better.

Grace - that others give it to me and that I strive to give it to others.

This is my focus for 2025 and beyond. Good thread start @ilikegunspdx !

In regards to firearms...
I am thankful for what I own...as well as the having skill and willingness to use that skill as it applies to the situation at hand.

For a more personal note...
I am thankful for all of my life experiences.
Some experiences were fun...others not so much.
However...all played a role shaping me into who I am...take away one...and I could be a much different person.
I am comfortable with who I am.

Just tossing this out there to consider...
Take a moment to tell others that you are thankful for the gift of their friendship or other relationship with you.
It is easy to think that they will always be with you and you can tell them later....
later , as in too late , often comes sooner than you think.

A close friend of mines wife got diagnosed with cancer last week. It is treatable and hopefully treatment will be successful, but the "C" word is just so scary. If anything positive came out of it, it was a huge reality check and perspective, that maybe some things in life arent so bad, and to really be thankful and focus on the big picture and the positives you have in life. It is so easy to get sucked into dwelling on the small crappy things, that you cant see the big beautiful things. That is my challenge to myself going forward!

Oh and I am thankful for new gun day- picking up a SCAR 17 Monday! ;-)

My wife had a tumor removed from her parotid gland a few weeks ago. Biopsy revealed it was benign. I am very thankful for that.
For everything else that is good, I am thankful every day, not just today.
