I saw a small buck dead in the ditch on Highway 58 Friday. That's usually a sign the rut is kicking in. I tagged a small three point ten days ago and he showed zero signs of being rutty.

I cannot remember the last time I watched more than four downs of football, one inning of baseball, or any basketball -- college or pros. Over 30 years, I think.

My son is a freshman this year and a standout player. He's big, built like me but without the gut. He's been playing for several years. Even earned a starting position on Varsity as a freshman. This year, they made it to the playoffs. His football IQ makes it fun to watch games, we are more college fans. I've been an Oregon Duck fan since well before they got good, the first time, LOL.
