Wondering, if you went back in time only, would the Earth be there? Would you need to go back in space and motion, too?

DeLorean was a total douchebag. But cool mods.
Rare video of DeLorean on his way to ship ship some cars

Yeah thats where time travel always loses me. You disappear and reappear at the same place a million years ago but your'e a half light year away in space while Earth has long since passed by.

I would only want time travel to live in a different era. We're living in a golden age of extravagance right now and life is pretty plush for a lot of people, but look at what it does to us. I think people need a certain amount of hardships to stay grounded in reality. I've always liked the twenties and thirties. Tough times for a lot of people, but interesting times.

If time travel were possible, everyone and their kid brother would go back and attempt to change things. We'd come back to an unrecognizable present, and it would likely be much worse than when they left.

If I could travel back in time, and only could bring "evidence" from that time frame to the present time, it would be just to get recordings of the debates around 2A at that time ;) sure today it could be decried as "ai voices" and based on what was written back then, if the written record is accurate for the time. But it would be nice to get a confirmation that the Founders fully intended 2A to be a check against the government and intended for the people, the citizens to be either superior in arms or equal to the standing armies of the time period.

Edit this is simply to ensure that I don't violate a temporal law or some such, creating a paradox or some such. Possibly it would have to rely on being literally unobserved by the people at that time, and existing outside their reality.

Something to consider with "time travel"...
The people of the past may not be interested in or even need your futuristic gadgets..

Either that or they will form something like cargo cults, burn their animals and crops, put their resources toward building shrines to the savior gadgets to bring on paradise, and starve.

I would not discount how quickly the perception of potential social advantage of a modern gizmo - likely seen as magic or god-like powers in a 'primitive' society - would take hold. Everybody gonna want an iphone with the magic light, and soul, er, image capture. Imagine if the gizmo were a taser. Or a boom stick.

And....
They might not care at all...or even want to understand whatever that item is.

In any event...since this is just a mental masturbation exercise ....
It really don't matter none at all.

Maybe that's why the today times are so messed up...
Koolaid hair, 18 genders, legalize pot and outlaw smoking in the same election, underfund law enforcement and infrastructure and schools yet give billions to the homeless, attempting to end hunting and fishing , threaten to take Greenland by force, the list of fuk'd upness is endless...
