Right now since I'm a novice on a very tight budget I'm running a Savage axis in .308 win with a 4-12× Bushnell scope. Its primarily going to be for deer and possibly elk or black bear. Also during muzzy season I run a CVA Hunterbolt Magnum with open sights. I'm planning to invest in some nicer platforms for waterfowl and upland game as well as a predator rifle and a long range setup.
