Hello everyone.

Being extremely novice at finally owning firearms, I don't know if I have my head up my rear end or not, but I am of the opinion that "all" my ammo should be in magazines. I am extremely fortunate in my life that I am able to afford this for myself.. I have 60 loaded magazines for my AR15 and I am considering enough magazines to have half of my AR10 ammo in magazines as well. This would equate to another 50 magazines.. Am I nuts or??

Respectfully,

Thank you all for your opinions.
Nuts….

PMC bronze?

Nasty hurty means non target ammo. Like 77 smk or tmk, tsx, et cetera.
Speaking of zombie ammo, I still have a stash of the short lived Zmax hornady .223 . AFAIK it's just a green poly insert instead of red. Snot rockets is the house nickname. I should have bought some of the TAP barrier blind instead, but that ship has sailed.

What about a store of value? They are worth far more unopened.
They are worthless to me unopened.

I have had NIB magazines that don't function. I'd rather know they work than keep them in the package.

I number them and keep using them as I shoot. If I have any problems, I can take note of which one and fix or replace as necessary.

So, you are going to open and shoot hundreds of new mags just to see? Dang, your spreadsheet must be massive in tracking them. I assume you shoot far more than me and my family. I'm rookie numbers but have a decent stock, but just don't get out nearly as much as I'd like to, that stupid thing called work gets in the way all the time.

I generally try to have at least 3 per handgun. One in the gun and 2 on the hip. I don't have any semi auto magic rifles so one extra magazine for each of the bolt guns. That being said I have lots of guns and tons of ammo. But in a shoot and scoot senerieo how much can I carry with me?

Hundreds? I guess you skipped the part where I don't buy hundreds of mags.

I keep ~10 mags per gun.

I'm a slacker, pretty sure I only own about a hundred 30-round AR mags, mostly PMags. And yeah, pretty sure I've only got about ten or so thousand-round cases of 5.56 and .223, combination of 62-grain green tips, 55 grain FMJs with a few hundred 72 and 77 grain match rounds thrown in...

How many rifles to feed?

If you live in a state that is being Californicated, the left is going after high capacity (ie STANDARD CAPACITY) mags hard. You should stock high and deep on ANYTHING that is under attack if it's important to you...mags, so called assault weapons, suppressors, ammo, etc.

The good news here is that there is already a legal challenge against this nonsense...Duncan vs. Bonta.

They might have one if it weren't filled with hundreds of unopened magazines
If they have centerfolds, they'd be opened I tell ya! :s0155:

Wait, my heads on a different magazine!

Depends how much you shoot, as towards how many to keep charged at any given time.

We shoot a bunch, so have a bunch charged. Makes range trips easier is all. No rush to recharge them after a range trip either, because there's still a bunch charged.

Everyone's different tho, so what we do & how it's done should have zero bearing on what others do.

That written: I would consider you nuts if you don't shoot hardly, but not so much if you do. Since you asked.

Mag condoms are uncomfortable at first but as you open them all and use them, a guy (or girl) can get used to them. Scratches on your or hers walls are just a bonus.

I don't keep my mags loaded. I have a few for my in service guns and I rotate them monthly. I know that magazine springs don't go bad according to the internet but I had some beretta magazines take a set once after five years so they're unloaded when stored now.
