How light is too light for 7MM PRC?

I currently have a Cascade CVT Long range hunter in 7mm PRC. It's heavy as all get out but shoots great! Getting back on target is easy due to the weight. I'm about to build up a Tikka and wondering what peoples thoughts are on a sub 8 pound (scope weight included) 7mm PRC kit for backcountry hunting. Is the weight cut worth the loss in recoil control?

100% agree with this statement. On a primary hunting rifle I am going to be packing around the woods I will never feel the recoil when I pull the trigger with an animal in the cross hairs. I would much rather have the weight reduction then the slight recoil mitigation. On a backcountry hunting rifle weight reduction is even more critical because ounces become pounds at the end of a long day so any weight you can save your body will appreciate.

I own Savage 110 Timberline in 7prc with harris bipod, nf 4-42x and area419 breaker.

total weight is like somewhere 12 lbs., and recoil is very manageable.

8 lbs should be okay, unless you need quick follow shot.

I was honestly thinking it would be manageable especially since I'm planning a build specifically to accommodate a suppressor.

well with suppressor, shouldn't be an issue with recoil.

Ergos are everything.
With the proper LOP, hand grip and cheek riser, and with a solid hold, any rifle can be made manageable.
My 338 Winmag is 9# fully loaded and is quite comfortable to shoot.
