My mom has had both Knees and a Shoulder replacement done, and she said the shoulder was the worst, particularly since the whole arm needs to be stabilized and makes sleeping positions not very comfortable. Drove her crazy. It will be interesting if hip replacement(s) are in order.

I had two hips and a knee replaced over 2014-2015. My reward for 25+ years in the timber industry. Recovery went well on all surgeries, and now at 10 years out they're still awesome pieces of equipment.

Anyone have a total hip replacement? I've had bone on bone in my hip for the last 4-5 years. I finally had enough of the discomfort and not sleeping well. Got it scheduled a couple months ago and had the surgery this morning. Checked in at 0630 and home by noon. So far everything is going well, don't need the walker. Curious to see how it feels tomorrow. Anyone else have one done? How was your recovery?
Haven't had it done, but have known several people that have had hips done. Seems like a big-ast invasion of the human body but they sure seem to come back to a normal life quickly. I knew an old gal in her upper '80s that had both done within a few months. My hips are okay. My issue will be knee and shoulder. I'm hoping my shoulder will last 'til I'm gone. My mother had her shoulder done when she was 89 and never recovered to anything close to a normal life, and passed on at 93. It wasn't pretty. :(
