I was going to say I'm addicted to guns, but that's probably a bit harsh. Let's just say I like them, but I also enjoy fishing and walking the dog. I'm an old guy, with a Savage 24V on my rack, Nylon 66, Winchester 67, and a few others. And and yes, I bought most of them new. Anyway, I'm an old guy so talk to me real slow. Thanks for reading, and I hope I can contribute something positive.

Welcome Aboard. Glad you found the forum.

This is the best place to hang out on the internet.

Check out the organized clean ups. It's the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly.

We are doing non ODF supported cleanups at public forests - check the North Fork Wolf Creek Road thread in resources.

If you really want to get involved in community action check out Trash No Land.

Welcome, Mike! In the future, in order to avoid the possible negative connotations associated with the words 'gun nut' might I suggest 'firearms enthusiast' instead.
(Though it is fun to watch them look for the exits when you tell 'em you're a gun nut!)

Hi Mike,

You will never get better if you hang around enablers.
you know man, maybe not a bad thing.

focusing just on the money aspect. i've been around a lot of enthusiasts in various activities. and realizing that the sky is the limit when it comes to NFA toys.

firearms are mild compared to: race cars, motorcycles, airplanes, and guitars.

i personally just have the one 10/22 since the tragic boating accident many years ago.

while real addiction is no joke, firearms aren't the worst you can do.

and at least when you do an annual inspection on a shotgun, you know your gunsmith isn't going to tell you it needs a $60k engine because the engine is making metal. don't ask…

Don't even get me started on motorcycles, firearms is such a cheap hobby.
