Hello! I'm a born and raised Oregonian who recently got into shotgun shooting sports and reloading (12ga for now). I shoot mostly skeet and a little sporting clays but always enjoyed trap too. My biggest question is, why the rivalry between trap and skeet? I get the fun banter but some people take it really seriously, unsure why. To me it's all just different ways of busting clays.

Because people are tribal by nature, and people have egos (and/or inferiority complexes) and generally think their sheite doesn't stink which sucks out the enjoyment of friendly competition and good sportsmanship.
