Wife and I have have to transition to a new plan and probably start paying for it out of pocket. Looking for feedback and suggestions for health insurance plans in WA state that we cost effective and also provide decent options for healthcare providers. TIA.

Age might be a consideration. I am in my early 60s so I would start with a call to AARP. I have been lucky in that I have excellent insurance so I haven't been looking.

Welp, you're fecked. Pay $1k/mo now with $20k due at time of service because you had a Tylenol or $100k all at once when the "thing" happens.

The only thing the AARP does these days is sell over priced under valued crap to seniors and take a cut in the process. It isn't the AARP of the old days where they were actually respectable and tried to help seniors. It is just a man in the middle marketing firm these days. They are the last place I would ever call!

One of the reasons you see so many older folks working in grocery stores is access to decent medical/dental through the union.
20hrs a week keeps an individual qualified for as long as you care to keep working.
