Adapters have been around for more than 100 years. I have a 40 year old 30 carbine in a 30-06. Mostly just a novelty item.

My first time seeing it, I guess I need to get out more often...Pretty cool though that I can shoot a 45lc from a shotgun.

At least these are both .30 cal. I dont know what good a .22 coming out of a 12ga would do any good maybe I'm missing something.

Back in the 60s and 70s we saw a lot of used adapters at gunshows, many were quite silly and odd. Never met anyone who took them very serious.

If you want an insert barrel check out these guys they go all the way up to a 45-70 out of a 12ga
they also make chamber adapters and all sorts of fun stuff

I've seen them on amazon. I think the only one I would run in a 12g is a 410. Seems like functionality isn't lost.

got a friend that made a double bbl 12 gague into a 45-70 double rifle that is very accurate and has been regulated to 100 yds.

I have a M\N adapter that allows me to shoot .32 S&W longs out of it. About the recoil of a .22 and the bullet is right diameter for the bore.

I use to have a .303 british to .32acp adapter. Having to eject the adapter from the gun, then knock the case out of the adapter with a rod made for some very slow shooting. The bore on my enfield was pretty rough when I first got it too, so I got a squib and some very, very low velocities until I shot some more .303 ammo through it. Afterwards velocity was similar to what .32acp does out of a keltec.
