PS; We drove over the Steens Mountain years ago and saw some of the wild horses , saw a buck in velvet and various snakes .

Been here for about 25 years now. Long clear distances on public land ain't hard to find out here!
 
Welcome! I make it to Christmas Valley frequently but haven't been to the Alvord Desert yet. Plan on headed that way soon, alway wanted to see it!
