Another low budget AR brand has fallen victim to the economy it seems. First, Del-Ton, now Anderson. Ruger has bought out Anderson. Not sure what exactly this will mean for Hi-Point's HP-15 if they (HP) were using Anderson.

I wouldn't say they were low budget but, definitely working man prices! I used many of their parts and made complete builds with great success. Compared to some, I felt they were pretty decent. Obviously not BCM or LMT but, decent quality. Here's a complete Anderson/Magpul build I did and it was quite accurate and never had a malfunction.

Anderson made a decent lower...good enough to get your feet wet , so to speak in regards to assembling a AR firearm.
Robust and it just works....not the best...but...best for the budget perhaps.
Budget firearms are well needed ....hopefully Ruger keeps this line / pricing.

Everyone should have at least one.

Anderson lower
BCM upper
Cheap optic
SS trigger.
Every part a different color.

All as God commanded.

RIP to one of the greats.

As long as they are within spec they are good to go. But I also don't get wrapped up in roll marks and high end name brands. I'll spend my money on the BCG, Barrel, trigger and optic.

Just got my AM-15 back from Anderson. Excellent Customer Service!
Did not function out of the box due to a Headspace issue.
Sent it in and they replaced the barrel.
Will be taking it out to try Saturday. If it still has a problem I guess I lose!

The Ruger statement says they will not continue the line. Ruger wants the machinery and building.

I have an Anderson varmint upper. 24" heavy barrel with a 1/8" twist. It was my main sage rat rifle for a few years. The charging handle and BCG that came with it was crap but that barrel was very accurate. I'm sorry to see them go. I think they made a good inexpensive entry product.

I think you got lucky in your timing. What I saw was that Ruger is not purchasing the name and warranty support is ending for all Anderson products. It was an asset acquisition not a buyout. Glad you got it fixed before they closed up shop.

Just averted a disaster!
Installed my Red Dot and pulled the Chamber Flag that they had put in.
The bolt had cut the bore end of the Flag off and it was stuck in the bore!
That would have been unpleasant:(
