Has any outfit ever made a good quality, reasonably faithful, reproduction of the 19th century pepperbox? I haven't found one in my travels.

A long time ago, I built one from a kit and it was pretty craptastic. I also encountered a .22 bore type from Spain that left a lot to be desired. There is the weird Pietta "Navy Yank Pepperbox" that, as far as I know, is not a reproduction of a historic pattern; though, admittedly, I could be wrong.

So, no luck finding one that reproduces, say, something like a Allen & Thurber. Anywho, just curious. Thanks. :)

Long answer.....Nope.
Short answer...No.

While I would love to see a good quality replica / copy...
I would guess that the market would be limited...and the pistol itself expensive to produce.

Oh you are correct those hideous 'Yank Navy Pepperbox " Revovlers...ain't a copy of any damn thing.

Roger that. Thank you @Andy54Hawken. Reckoned that was the answer, but figured I'd ask. I too would find one super neato, but, as stated, maybe not a big enough market.

Although a cool idea I don't think the original pepper boxes were all that good quality or reliable... hence faithful reproductions will be pretty crappy too.

My Father (via my Grandfather) left me a wheellock. pretty cool. timing seems right. but I'm not going to fire it. even if i could find some old reliable .32's

My Father (via Grandfather) left me this wheel lock. i was able to get the cycling fixed, but doubt I'll ever shoot it (even if I could find some old reliabel .32's). but its pretty cool.

That is a percussion pistol...
It does not take a cartridge...so you won't find any ready made .32 ammo for it
You would need to load it with loose powder and ball.

Neat pistol for sure.
