Good introductory firearms courses for teenage female?

I don't know about the US Army, but when I was in Uncle Sam's Misguided Children boot camp many years ago, they didn't teach me squat about firearms. I learned how to point, shoot, and clean. Not one bit more, and for sure not enough to make me competent with firearms in civilian defensive applictions.

Here, stand in this hole in the ground. Here's a machine gun. Hold this handle right here. Squeeze your trigger finger briefly. Get out of the pit. Sorry, that doesn't even count as fam fire.

I think they got rid of the women only classes in 2012.

This is true, but upon speaking with Gila recently, there is always a good percentage of women in their intro courses.

I definitely recommend FAS. I was advised that there is normally at least one women instructor for the basic classes.
