Interesting position for Glock to take. Sounds like brand protection and CYA. If they were so concerned about "switches" automating the fire of their firearms, perhaps a redesign is in order to negate the operation of said "switches".

Give us a design that's not so easily convertible to full auto. They're just concerned about the next sale, the next contract….

So pass more laws to make something illegal that's already illegal. Oh yea that will help things…. Ridiculous.

@nammac is right imo. Some states are trying to pass laws to ban Glocks, not switches. Glock is trying to put the kibosh on that.

MCD = Machinegun Conversion Device.

Ronald Reagan banned machine guns back in 1986 under The Firearm Owners Protection Act. Yet somehow thugs and criminals still manage to get full autos. (couldn't be the Black Market could it....) The criminals will ALWAYS have access to what law abiding citizens are barred from owning. Hence the name: Criminals.

Dummies.... you can't stop the signal!

Such devices that have been federally illegal for the unlicensed since May 19, 1986. Many states, like Oregon, make them illegal too, sans federal paperwork showing registration before that date. If one brain-dead law from nearly 40 years ago didn't do it, why would anyone think the criminal class would care about another? Oops, there I go attempting to apply reason and logic to the anti-freedom crew.

Assuming the news is true, probably safe to assume Glock is trying some CYA. It will likely be irrelevant all around though; the law will do nothing, the gang-bangers will keep being criminals, and the idiot politicians will claim they "diiiiiid something" but aren't suddenly going to stop their drive for unconstitutional laws. Just not good all around.

Is the design "Perfect" because it is so easily converted or is it not perfect because it is so easily converted?!? Weird situation for all the lovers out there.

Glock really stepped in it with their statement. They went full FUDD. As of December of last year, there are 15 states plus D.C. that are collectively suing Glock for the switch debacle. That's a pretty tough spot for Glock to find themselves in, but "bending the knee" to gun control is the worst thing they could've done.

Kinda seems that way. I mean, is Glock thinking these 15 states (+DC) are going to just 'roll over' and drop their cases?

Are they trying to 'appease' them in some way? Are they saying 'See , we agree with you and are on YOUR side' ?

With Sig and now Glock stepping on their dicks I'm glad my tastes have shifted towards 2011s. :D
