Interesting position for Glock to take. Sounds like brand protection and CYA. If they were so concerned about "switches" automating the fire of their firearms, perhaps a redesign is in order to negate the operation of said "switches".

Give us a design that's not so easily convertible to full auto. They're just concerned about the next sale, the next contract….

Assuming the news is true, probably safe to assume Glock is trying some CYA. Glock really stepped in it with their statement. They went full FUDD. As of December of last year, there are 15 states plus D.C. that are collectively suing Glock for the switch debacle. That's a pretty tough spot for Glock to find themselves in, but "bending the knee" to gun control is the worst thing they could've done.
