The ejectors are different based on caliber and generation. Also the extractors can be different if you're buying just a blank slide

Is the front portion of the frame [Dust skirt] longer on the 17frame?

I would think the 45 frame would be shorter in length like the 19?



If so you could trim it.
But there would be no going back.

I just tried my 19 length slide on my 17 frame.
As you can see there is a space at the back. And a dust guard length problem in the front.

It looks as if the 45 has the shorter locking block of the 19. And the longer grip of the 17.
A 19 slide won't work. So no conversion.
