These were made from Ishapore Mk. 2A model Lee Enfields. They were manufactured in 7.62x51 NATO which is one of the reasons I bought it. Others were that I wanted a jungle carbine but I don't shoot or stock .303 British so this was perfect and it was on the wish list a long time.
I'm pretty sure this was manufactured in 1964.
Since it's in great shape, excellent bore, etc. but not of historical significance I decided to rehab it. It had been D&T'd and the holes filled, so I sent it to Velzey to have it parkerized and had two mags done at the same time. One came with it and the other is a correct new Ishapore mag as well.
I redid the wood and it has a boiled linseed oil finish.
I took it out for the first time a couple of weeks ago and ran both mags through it once and it ran great.
$600.
