So earlier in December I had responded to a listing in the classified section from a longstanding member with amazing feedback. I paid him and gave him my address and have been waiting since Dec 8th. I messaged him multiple times and haven't received a response or anything back since Dec 15th. I want to give him benefit of the doubt but I'm just about ready to call my bank to refund me my money. I'm just not sure what to do. He's been a member since 2009 and has 200+ positive feedback with 1 negative. I've also seen him post and shows he was on 10 minutes ago. It was only $50 but still it's my money that I could be spending elsewhere. Any advice?

Please do not "out" a forum member...This never ends well when that happens.

PM the other member...try other methods of communication if possible...
And if all else fails , leave negative feedback.

One would do well to give thought to comment here.

Not on this board, but I have seen this happen before. Eventually we determined the trusted member had passed suddenly. ;)

In this case the "potential offender" has been on the site, as little as 10 minutes prior to the OP's post here in this thread. So they should be able to be contacted.

Well, you opened up this thread. That should get his attention soon. Give it a day or two. If you see he's been on here again and doesn't respond to you, then call him out publicly.

As far as I can see you've done the right and gentlemenly thing.

Give it a bit. Contact him again. If he doesn't reply, call him out.

Again...

Please do not "Call Out" the other forum member...

Two things happen when a forum member is called out :

The thread turns into a : "You did this"...."No I did not" , rule breaking bash fest...
Or...
Like in the case that happened recently , a forum member "called out " another forum member...
Only to call out the wrong forum member.

PM the forum member in question...
Try other methods of communication...
Leave negative feedback.

Is the item still showing as open in the classifieds?

While the police are busy ignoring real crime, they may be all.over this. Give them.a call. Might get someones attention.

I would call JG Wentworth, Its your product, and you want it, NOW!!!!!!!!
Id be pissed. Maybe family issue, sickness, Alzheimers, Dimentia, scapegoat.
Hopefully it resolves itself. Good Luck.

Sorry that happened to you. I've had long time forum members pull shady stuff on me, sometimes by laziness/stupidity, sometimes by what quacked and waddled like a duck.

That said, life's complicated and I doubt a long time forum member with that much feedback would trade their reputation for $50. It's possible, but it seems likely the truth is more boring and stupid.

Call your bank, get the money back, leave him negative feedback for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's something small he did to cause the problem and just doesn't realize it yet. No matter the reason, that'd send my blood boiling.

I have been in CA since last Saturday and was really hoping it would be waiting for me when I got home but nada. I'll give it till Monday until I call my bank. I'm just super bummed because I thought this forum was full of great people (only NWFA members of course). Makes me really sketched to pay by PayPal anymore. Probably my first and last transaction like this.

A similar incident occurred to me some time back. Agreed on a deal and made a date to meet. After ano show and a month of no response to multiple pm's and text messages, I left a negative feedback. That finally got a response, of a revengeful negative feedback left on me! It is the only negative on my record, totally undeserved.
Also made a deal last month with a newer member, one positive feedback. I sent a money order, which apparently never arrived. We canxed the deal and I ask to please be notified if/when the order ever arrived, as I had to wait a month to stop payment. Newbie has not been heard from since. And amazingly, the pm that contained his name and address disappeared from our convo!
Needless to say, I am getting a little punchy about making purchases through NWFA that are not very local.

While a problem can always happen, I've had only excellent results with transactions here. In fact the only real gripe I have is that only about 1 in 3 leave feedback!

Probably 2/3rds of the deals I've done through here have been at a distance involving sending / receiving a check and shipping of the item. So I'd be a little more optimistic about the folks here. The vast majority are stand up individuals.

Getting left hanging out in the breeze sucks. I had a similar experience as the OP only in reverse. No communication, no money in my mailbox.:(
I left feedback and moved on. The other member didn't respond. Who knows? Maybe I'm a dick...

Bought some Federal Gold Medal 308 brass some years back on eBay. Guy was another LEO, and sent the brass before he received my check. Those were the days.

1. Good guys,
2. Brass/bullets on eBay.

The "Great Reset" should be a return to those days.

As you say, it was only $fiddy... It has been barely 10 days & with the Wuhan Chinese bug descending upon us & the holidays,
I would hope you could give the seller more time. I liked the comment to PM, especially If you don't have a phone number or others means to communicate privately. It shows here that you have good sense because you reached out to the community before launching a full frontal attack after seeing the seller on this site only a few minutes before you left this message.
I have good experiences with PayPal, if the product isn't delivered. ebay kind of sucks.
It seems to me that a lot of messages here go unanswered. Or ads not updated. This is different though as you have seen activity from your seller & you have bought in, having paid for the item. I am the type of person who gets perturbed when ignored & don't have the patients of a snail & but in my humble opinion you a handling matters well. Keep it up.
I may have missed it but do you have a "tracking" number to source? Seller may be oblivious.

Fill their PM box, if they are a tool, name the tool, you could even at the at symbol with their name, but it could end poorly.
Pm's dont seem to pop up like comments on their post, you may try that too.
