Ghost alerts

I was doing a transaction with someone on here I was waiting for replays to info I needed . I would receive alert notices sometimes ,mulltiple .when I opened then and went to PM S or forum there was nothing new. A couple days later I would see a replay but it would disappear and return to conversation from days previous .. Was there a fluke in the system ?

Can happen if a reply's deleted before you read it...

I have Ghost Alerts once in a while, but they're usually because I have several tabs of this site scattered across 2-3 browser windows on two separate machines and the "ghost" is because it's already been dealt with elsewhere.
