In 1966, I thought my new Sheridan Blue Streak was a weapon of squirrel mass destruction. Fast forward to 2024, and I have my second air rifle, a Gamo Wildcat Whisper. The Sheridan at 680FPS maximum with 10 pumps, if I recall correctly, and my new Gamo break-barrel 35lb pump delivers 1300FPS. I know there are more powerful air guns out there, but for the price, this rifle's power shocked me.
I looked for an affordable air rifle that wasn't made in China (too many are). I wanted German-made...to spendy for me. This Wildcat is made in Spain. That worked for me. The scope isn't worth a hill of beans. IMO, it would have been better to leave the junk scope out of the mix and reduce the price a bit. Let the owner choose their own.
Anyway, I really like this Gamo.
Does anyone here have one, how do you like it, and have you changed out the scope?
Cheers!
