Some of the Bubba stippling jobs I've seen look terrible, although they probably work.

Looks great to me. I personally dont like the triangle shape stipple on the left side of the frame, i'd prefer the whole 'bump' stippled. Double undercut looks good also.

I have thought about having someone work one of my Gen 3s , stipple and someday slide work.

It's actually cut not just stippled. Purpose is for a ledge to put your thumb on. There's a reason for everything done on a gun I do.
