Does it ever bother you how us Yanks pronounce "Lapua?"
Not so much, although I've heard some VERY strange American pronunciations of place-names here in England, and don't get me started on Wales. Anyhow, mispronunciation is not just a US thang. Many places in the USA are mispronounced by Brits who just don't know the difference between Cairo, Egypt [KYRO] and Cairo, Illinois [KAY-RO], let alone Illinois
Have to have a giggle, though, about some Youtube movies with American travellers going around the country here and their adventurous attempts at pronunciation. Hey, it's all in fun, right? I don't give a hoot unless it turns out to be offensive in some way.
Try this one - a little village in North Wales - Llanuwchllyn.
I call back later to see how you are getting on.....................
