I should note, BFD still needs a traditional muzzle device to hold it on, even just a thread-protector collar will do--it has no barrel-side threading of it's own, just where the collar screws onto the mount.

Other advice: First thing you do when you take it out of the package, remove the collar and screw the provided thread-protector onto the mount until you have it installed.
