I apologize for opening yet another recommend-the-bestest-gun thread, but your input in my 9mm thread was so good that I have to ask again.
So, I bought my first own gun a few weeks ago (a Glock 17 in 9mm) and couldn't be happier with my choice. However, when I was at the local gun store the other day to buy a cleaning kit, I realized that what I really need is a .38 special revolver (and a .22 rifle and a 1911...). Long story short, what would be a decent entry-level choice? Here are my requirements:
- affordable (under $500 new; cheaper is better)
- fun to shoot
- smooth shooter
- hammer (I just don't like the look of the hammer-less things)
Long barrel, short barrel, either is good. Please note that I am not interested in a .357. Thanks for your input!
