Hello,

Im looking to try out some "long rifle shooting" at a local gun range.

Hopefully someone can answer my quick questions.

Can i shoot a .270?

Bring ammo or buy there?

Don't know about DRRC but if you go to Vancouver, you can use the English Pit range. Costs about 17 dollars per use (no membership is available, all entry is just a per day fee). I will be going soon to test out my Mosin M38 carbine I just got.

Tri County Gun Club in Sherwood, OR has a 600 yard range that is in operation on one Saturday and two Tuesdays a month. Douglas Ridge has a 1000 yard range.
Both are private clubs that require membership or being taken as a guest of a member.

Shooting long range requires some steps to getting to shooting the long range course. 100 yard and 300 data (actual data from your rifle and ammo) are required at Tri County before you a free to shoot at 600 yards.

Yes, I suppose u could shoot a .270, and u bring ur own ammo, but like he said drrc is a members only club. U would have to join to shoot long range I believe. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think guests can shoot long range.

There are no restrictions about guests shooting Long Range at DRRC. It would be up to the discretion of the hosting member.
