I was playing video games with a guy and the topic of guns came up. He admitted to me that he'll order legit optics from amazon, then replace and return a counterfeit one. The people processing the returns have no way to tell they're fake. Pretty scummy thing all around
People do that with computer parts too.

jokes on him, half the "legit" ones on Amazon are counterfeit too. How is he figuring out which ones are which?

I assume looking up serial numbers
Seems like a good way to get yourself banned by a known reputable seller. But I guess once you figure that part out it would work a few times.

The real trick is finding the reputable sellers on there. Amazon policies have a tendency to push them off the marketplace.

Hmm, I just received a pair of Nikon binos from there. They were the real thing. Along with a badlands bino carrier that goes with my pack. YMMV I guess.

Amazon's policies created this problem. When they purged all legitimate firearms accessories and related companies because "guns are scary" yet allowed airsoft products, the scammers filled the void. And Amazon gave them the keys and an excuse... So the vendors are like: "Well, of course our products are airsoft knock offs. That's what you bought. That's all that is allowed. Amazon doesn't allow authentic firearms accessories on their platform. You should have known that already. Sucks to be you."

I bought a personality off Amazon once.... had to return it because suddenly I could only say things like, "chevroray", and "riberty or def", and sang "fa ra-ra-ra-ra.... ra-ra-ra.... ra" at x-mas time.

So I returned it for a credit towards a Japanese ruv pirrow.

Yea thanks buddy. Real helpful
Input u have there lol. The seller was listed as Aimpoint itself. Luckily their return policy is top tier. So it's a good thing Amazon isn't a cheap Chinese company itself.
I just bought an Aimpoint from their own factory website. Quick shipping and no problems.

I have bought about a dozen optics from amazon over the last ten plus years. Never a problem.
There is one certain rule I do follow. I make sure it's shipped by Amazon. If there is any problem, returns are easy.
I have had problems buying off amazon, when the item was sold & shipped by an independent company.
