Desert Tech MDRX

I lost the firing pin retainer and O-ring sometime during reassembling my MDRX and am unable to obtain a replacement part that is not compatible to the standard AR firing pin retainer.

I have been trying to contact Desert Tech to get a part for my MDRX. I was out prairie dog shooting and expended a bunch of rounds ridding the area of plague infested rodents. Got back to the lodge and to claim my firearm. Unfortunately, during the cleaning somewhere my firing pin retainer fell out and only noticed that the next day when I tried to fire my rifle. I only heard the click. I noticed my rifle's firing pin was not secured inside action. I've been trying to reach desert tech for over a week now via emails and voice messages without any response.

Does anybody know if the company has gone out of business or any luck in reaching the company for support in obtaining parts?

Not out of business but their customer service has gone to bubblegum in the last 2 years. It seems it takes them a few weeks to get a response. Why not go to ace hardware and find a o-ring that works?

What is the best way to get the word out that Desert Tech seems to be going out of business? I sent my sixth email to them and left 5 voicemails:

I am requesting advise on how to properly insert the rear take-down pin and requesting a replacement for the firing pin retainer and its O-ring.

I purchased the MDRX from Cold Front Firearms in August 2021 Serial number MDR007748. I have been very happy with it except for the difficulty in reassembling the firearm.

The rear takedown pin can be installed by using a pick to hold the FNH clip open enough to get the pin started, then push it in until it clips. If you'd like I can make you an order for a replacement firing pin retainer.

Unfortunately, Desert Tech didn't respond to my telling them YES, PLEASE SEND. WTF

The firing pin holder I fabricated, wouldn't stay in place without some way of holding it in. Totally dependent on getting replacement pin form Desert Tech. :-(

Sad to say I will not buy another firearm from them. I was trying to find a way to get the WLVRN even if I had to move to a free state like Idaho.

I got a MDR last year and had a good experience with them. They were not exactly lighting fast on email communication, but the longest delay I had between messages was only a few days. I wonder if you just got a lazy rep handling your case?

We are currently recovering from a cyber attack that hit us at the beginning of the month, we only just resumed operations this week. This is the cause of the lack of communication, we had no access to our emails since the 5th​. We are still getting things back up and running, if you would fill out this form once we get warranty services up and running I will make a case and have it sent to you. If you have any questions please let me know and id be happy to provide you with any information that I can.
