I placed an order at my local shop for a 2020 DW Specialist. Paid in full. The store initially told me 2-4 weeks. It's been over 6 weeks now and the store is saying "were not sure when it will come in", now. I tried to contact CZ and DW just to get a rough idea about production time but no replies. I'm starting to get a little worried....nearly 2 grand dropped and it's just floating around out there. Am I just being impatient? I can find them on GunBroker and now wishing I had just gone that route. I debating asking the store to just use my money and order the gun in from GunBroker but no idea how well that will be received. My receipt says "no returns on special orders"

I'm in a similar situation. I ordered a Dan Wesson Discretion 9mm through CZ's LE/MIL program on 8/18/20. The order was received right away. On 10/19/20, I asked if there was an eta and got this:

"I am sorry but I currently do not have the ability to forecast a timeline on when to expect the DW Discretion to come in. The Dan Wesson Factory operates on their own timeline and I am not privy to their factory production schedule. I apologize for the inconvenience."

I'm guessing something is up at Dan Wesson? It's odd that CZ USA representatives can't get production schedules from a subsidiary company...

Unfortunately, I think we're both stuck waiting. Hopefully DW figures it out soon and starts shipping pistols.

I think I might push my shop for a cancellation. I'd wait it out but your reply is echoed by others. I understand it's crazy times right now but local shops, DW and CZ should not be taking people's money if they can't even give you an answer in regards to if you will ever see your our purchase. Shame really, I was/am excited. Will talk to my shop on Friday, see what they say.

There are quite a few DWs Specialist for sale her on the forum, much less than the $2k you paid. Most are probably not abused, as is a common worry. GB should always be your first source to look at. Mine is in the 9mm chambering. Very tight, even after some 300 rounds. I like it.

Pre-chinavirus I ordered a DW Valor 10mm from Big Js in Orting and he only needed $500.00 down, not full cost. The 10mm Valor was a hot item and DW told J it could be months but DW really came through and it rolled in a few weeks later.

Weird times but the DW guns are awesome and worth the wait...good luck :)

I tried to contact CZ and
a couple years ago I had an unpleasantly long return time on a REPAIR of the fabled CZ P10c, nearly 2 months. JUST for a trigger problem on a NEW pistol. After delay, longer delay, really LONG delay I managed to actually talk to a living person at their 'factory' somewhere in the mid west. After the 'oh that's ready to be shipped' and more delay.... The story there was they had managed to damage the frame (!) and would replace the pistol....which they eventually did.

Maybe it doesn't apply to your situation entirely, yet "CZ factory service" was bordering on fraudulent in my case. Good luck.

Well, after some research and finally getting ahold of a person at CZ....I cancelled my order, just no guarantee when the Specialist would be avail. On the flips side however, my store had a Larry Vickers 1911 Master Class in stock and on site. Loved it, now own it. So while a Dan Wesson is still on my list, I'm a happy camper for now.
