Czan't wait for a CZ-AR, or dare I say it a "Czar-15" :s0108: Too bad this happened in 2021, and not 2019 when guns *and ammo* were readily available, and not about to be banned into black market oblivion. :(

Hate consolidations like this of American company's but it'll probably bring Colt quality up a bit...like they did for DW
Its either they get bought up and transformed into a modern company with good engineering, new models that people want to buy and marketing that isnt just relying on a name ...or...they go down the same road they have been on and go bankrupt with their assets sold off like Remingtons.

Imagine buying the rights for pennies on the dollar to what would become the most popular civilian sporting rifle in US history that would also be adopted by the US military as the standard issue firearm for 50+ years and counting. Then losing the US military contract to a foreign competitor. Then leaving the civilian market for YOUR rifle during an era of unprecedented demand. Then finally being gobbled up entirely by a different foreign competitor. That is Colt.

Imagine if Colt had made firearms that people wanted to buy instead of the sh1tefest that was the Double Eagle or the 2000, if they'd tried to be competitive in the 1911 market, offering compelling pistols like Springfield, Kimber, Ruger and Smith and Wesson, rather than relying on a rollmark, or could have found a way to capitalize on their experience making AR's.
Honestly I'm surprised CZ would want that albatross .....

some more Gun Jesus....always worth watching.....

Colts always had a hate/hate relationship with their civilian AR's. Theyve done everything under the sun to make them as PC as possible even going back to the 70's with their Sear block guns, pin hole size changes, etc. They ALWAYS wanted military and police sales and never really wanted civilian sales of AR's. They make a moderately OK 1911 and while their wheel guns are hit or miss they still can't make them fast enough with their constant loss of talent in their machine shops. Its hard to make guns when you lay off your whole staff every few years because of your crappy sales tactics..

It's still a highly recognizable brand. The name alone is worth a lot of money, much like Sears long after their heyday. Great video links, thanks!

Search is your friend. ;)

Just sayin'. :) :s0140:

EDIT: I just noticed it was DB. Oh well, it's staying up. :D

Looks like Colt is being bought buy CZ. Probably the best thing that could of happened to colt. If CZ handles colt like they have done with Dan Wesson it should be a huge success once we get passed Colt being owned by a foreign country company. Thoughts?
