    Sabertooth,
It took me years to finally figure out exactly what gun that was, because I've had one for years, and thought it was just an octagonal-barrel Hawken. It's actually a CVA Mountain Rifle, and it's a Hawken, but they call it the CVA Mountain Rifle. They came out in kits right around 1978 to 1980, and typically they had two wedges and a pewter cap on the front stock, but there was more brass available for those who wanted to dress theirs up; mine was modified with a brass nose cap and a brass trigger guard, and the butt stock is brass too. Sorry, mine's not for sale, but I wanted you to have a name for the rifle you're looking for. GORGEOUS rifle.

    Good luck!
    Jim
