I find the bay crabbing to be slow when there's a higher concentration of fresh water from rain.

The months that end in "R" typically produce the best results. September, October, November, December as the salinity of the bays generally aren't diluted from heavy fall and winter rains yet.

Too much fresh water in the bays. With the lack of rain the past few days the bay should be getting better. Smaller bays will "clear" out quicker so if you have to go fishing when the rivers have been dumping fresh water go to a smaller bay.

Not sure about your crabbing down that way but I am going to go dig me some razor clams out of Westport at the end of the month! Love me some fresh razors!

We have a few Big boats out in the ocean and Zero bay crabbers. The crab dock is empty. But hey this guy caught a seagull.
