Anyone with any experience with the Corbon DPX rounds in 300 blackout? 110 gn

For home defense uses. Yes, subsonic with suppressor would be great, but no suppressor. So, supersonic it is.

No experience with Corbon DPX.

-just wanted to mention, if you ever do go suppressed, supers are fine to run. In a home defense setting you *probably* wouldn't even notice, but also wouldn't be deaf/concussed...

-yah, don't run supers without ears, if you don't HAVE to. Cumulative hearing damage etc.

Definitely! Training, always have ears on. If the need arises for defense, hopefully it just won't matter, or at least won't be a top priority.

We keep electronic earmuffs on our nightstands. Older ones, which have a quick on dial. Our range ones have an on button that needs to be depressed a few seconds.

The 110 gr DPX/Barnes bullet in .300 BLK at 2350-2400 fps is about as good as it gets. They are accurate out to at least 100 yds from my 3 rifles/SBRs.

I've shot one box of the 110 DPX and loaded a few hundred with the Barnes bullets. I have shot one living thing with them, a 100 lb wild sow. DRT, but I hit her behind the ear.

Awesome! I can't find much on their performance in 300, just other calibers. Seems to be a solid choice. Thanks for the reply.

I have no experience with this brand, but "Barrier-Blind" ammunition would not be my first choice for home protection. A 110gr V-MAX might work better in my situation. My home and location may differ from others' abodes. (Mine is like a cardboard box glued to some others cardboard box homes)

This type of ammunition would be ideal for rural areas where predatory animals could pose a threat. Edit to add: Some similar ammunition is achieving 20"+ penetration on ballistic gelatin at 200 yards from a 16" barrel.

300 AAC Blackout 110gr – Barrier-Blind Power with Copper Precision

When conditions turn unpredictable, your ammunition can't afford to fail. COR®BON's 300 AAC Blackout 110gr load is engineered for deep penetration, rapid expansion, and total weight retention—even when passing through barriers that would stop conventional rounds.

DPX® Projectile Design

This round uses our proven DPX® projectile, a 110-grain solid copper hollow point with a polymer tip and four razor-sharp cutting petals. Together, these features ensure explosive, controlled expansion and devastating internal damage—without fragmentation or unpredictable performance. Unlike traditional jacketed bullets, this solid copper design retains 100% of its mass, even through auto glass, drywall, and other hard materials.

The polymer tip initiates rapid expansion while also improving ballistic performance at extended distances. Ring grooves along the bullet shank help reduce chamber pressures and stabilize in-flight behavior. This makes the load reliable in a variety of platforms—from suppressed rifles to short-barrel carbines and tactical setups.

Performance and Energy

COR®BON's 300 AAC Blackout 110gr produces a muzzle velocity of 2400 feet per second and generates 1407 foot-pounds of energy. As a result, it delivers high-impact results at real-world distances with no compromise on precision or penetration.

Additionally, this lead-free load meets environmental and training requirements in regulated zones, including California. Therefore, it's suitable for both tactical training and self-defense applications.

Specifications and Features

  • Caliber: 300 AAC Blackout

For sure, agreed for many situations, thankfully mine is such that it will be ok.

Seems to be a VERY effective option.

Lots of experience with Corbon.

Run away.

I actually haven't heard anything about them in quite some time. I'm surprised they are still in business.

What kind of problems did you have with them?

Thank you both for the replies!
Too many to list, but first hand experience with a blown-up G20. Pulling bullets revealed 4 other overcharged loads in that same box.

Personal and ancillary experience with just pain bubblegum accuracy, overinflated velocities, poor deviation, and a DGAF attitude when contacted.

Too many other good ammo companies out there to deal with these crackjobs.

From my memory: Exaggerated claims of performance, poor QC resulting in bullet setback and erratic velocities with the ultra high velocity rounds,
to be fair the company has been sold more times the Redfield scopes, so maybe this time around will be better

ETA: and tumbling Safety Slugs because of under/over filling with shot

Yeah, those are some bad things for sure! Thanks!
