Why do you need more than one bench to shoot multiple rifles? Most ranges have racks to store rifles when not on bench. Shoot one until it needs a break and switch it out for another in rack, rinse, lather, repeat. If it's a slow range day I could hog a couple of benches and bring a couple of rifles. If it's a busier day, I don't want to be that guy.
Dunking rifle barrel is a good idea but would be frowned upon by RSOs.
No, but some should require loss of man card! Will any of these cooling methods cause warpage of the barrel?
We have to fully case ours up before it can leave the bench. Why do you need more than one bench to shoot multiple rifles? Most ranges have racks to store rifles when not on bench. Shoot one until it needs a break and switch it out for another in rack, rinse, lather, repeat.
Hmm, I would shoot somewhere else.We have to fully case ours up before it can leave the bench.
Fortunately I have a place to shoot by myself. There are lots of rules at ranges because there are a lot of stupid people.Hmm, I would shoot somewhere else.
Copy that, I belong to a private range and I go on days and times there usually is no one around. I do volunteer for a couple hours on Thursday afternoons when we are open to the public, to help RSO run the range. After we close , I usually bring a gun or two and shoot for a bit.Fortunately I have a place to shoot by myself. There are lots of rules at ranges because there are a lot of stupid people.
Military and self defense rifles are a different thing. It makes no sense to intentionally degrade potential life or accuracy of a target or hunting rifle regardless of its value.Lots of guys are adding triggers and devices to speed up rate of fire on their rifles. I just want to average a round a minute, for 20min. That shouldn't have a big impact on barrel life.
"....it does not get any simpler than that."Military and self defense rifles are a different thing. It makes no sense to intentionally degrade potential life or accuracy of a target or hunting rifle regardless of its value.
Forget about the rate of fire.... Just use an air blower barrel cooler and or dont shoot it till its hot to touch, it does not get any simpler than that.
Makes no sense to ruin a good gun."....it does not get any simpler than that."
@RVTECH might disagree. His advice was the simplest of them all.
"Just go shoot and not concern yourself with it."
