Consarn it ... woman came flitting in and told me to empty the dishwasher and dump the trash. Best laid plan of mice and men. Its OK, I will fire up the old war film regardless. Bowl of popcorn, a cold beer, and good cinema. It will be good.

Yeahbutt when they obey the woman, mice & men can plan to get laid. :D

(See what I did there? ;)

Loved "Combat"!!! We loved and respected soldiers fighting the good fight. Played Combat in my friends yard the day after episodes. Going to have to revisit that series!

I am 66 years old and watched them. They as mentioned are on Youtube and also Victory at Sea as well as the Silent Service are so good compared to any trash programs that are on the TV now.

BTW.... I was watching a WWII documentary on Netflix last night. The first episode is about the Blitzkrieg and how the German forces left the Arden forest and traveled 3 days straight w/o stopping, to attack the French city of Sedan, and then just kept going all the way to the coast, encircling the British Expeditionary Force and causing the mass casualties at Calais and the misery at Dunkirk. Turns out, they had supplements called Pervitin they were taking to stay awake. The German soldier was no superhuman... THEY WERE ON METHAMPHETAMINE!!!:eek::eek:

Since this thread is tootling down nostalgia highway, yesterday my wife found "Rawhide" in black and white with Rowdy Yates aka Clint Eastwood.

Think I'll put it on again.

+1 for Rat Patrol!
Always loved that show!
Black Sheep was another biggy for my brothers and I
Damn had forgotten that one too. Loved it. While ago Wife got into that show we watched as kids, Dark Shadows. They had some on some streaming service then a few seasons in it skipped a bunch. So I found they had them on Netflix. Been making copies of them as she needs and she is now and then in there watching the old vampire again. :D

Cage, Kerby, Lil John & Sarg. Loved it! Used to play Combat with the Brothers on the ranch. Would dive over sagebrush, roll in the dirt and come up shooting the imaginary enemy with the 22 bolt actions. I always played Cage.

Been watching an episode each evening, and 2-3 on weekends, since about Thanksgiving.

We also played Rat Patrol in the old Toyota Land Cruiser with the top off, doors off, windshield down and tear the heck out of that truck! (Sorry Dad!).

Never played 12 O'clock High. Could be because we didn't have anything that could fly! But loved to watch the show!
