For sale Washington South Sound. Can meet Tacoma to Olympia for local sale. Cash. First "I'll take it" gets it. Shipping possible at buyer's expense (prob close to $100). C&R eligible, just need to trade info. Or transfer at buyers expense at a convenient dealer.

This is a Colt frame with later GI replacement slide and barrel (common for rebuilds in the 70s and 80s). Very nice looking pistol.

SN: 889292 (1943)
Slide: marked 7790314 on the left; MFR 2U894 on the right; M on top
Barrel: marked 45 Auto / 7791193 / 85 in the hood area; M on the right of the leg; TZ14 P on the left of the leg; appears new and chrome lined

CMP grade description: Service Grade. Pistol may exhibit minor pitting and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips are complete with no cracks. Pistol is in issuable condition. Pistols may contain commercial parts.

As you can see, this pistol suffers little or none of the possible grade defects!

Small world....I do believe that I was issued this pistol and carried it during the Invasion of Panama.
( if I am remembering the serial number correctly )
Would love to have this....funds just ain't there.

Original WWII Slides were not completed hardened steel - at one point armorers would machine the breech face and replace them life span of the original slides was 5000 rounds
Notice you see some slides with a color change on parkerizing front of slide was "hardened"

Contract slides where made by several companies

Balimoy Manufacturing (Venice, FL)
During later USGI contract periods, Balimoy manufactured hardened match-grade slides for the military. These are often stamped with "M" on top and carry the Cage Code 2U894.
The barrel 7791193 / 85 (date code) TZ14 P
TZ denotes Israeli made chrome lined barrel

I have both of these in my 1911
