Ok...This is kinda awesome. :)

If you're not familiar with the situation, "First Man" is the new Ryan Gosling movie about Neil Armstrong. And Hollywood...in it's infinite liberal stupidity...saw fit to eliminate one of the most iconic moments in American history by not including in the movie, when Neil planted the US Flag on the moon.

Ryan Gosling had this to say about the decision...

"I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that's how we chose to view it," Gosling said at the Venice Film Festival. "I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again, he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible."

Well somebody tweeted at General Yeager about the situation...

And the General actually responded!

Chuck Yeager Delivers Knockout Blow To Hollywood Film For Leaving Out Iconic American Moment

i would say it was one small step for man, one giant leap for man kind.

USA all the way baby!

:s0160:

cant forget most all of hollywood is a bunch of idiots

Hollywood, who needs it?

And yes, I know EXACTLY which Chuck Yeager was referenced. SR-71 Blackbird anyone?

Hollywood: "Let's make a movie about the first man on the moon, but leave out the whole point of the trip in the first place."

Does Ryan Goooseling actually speak in this movie instead of just looking like a badasszz? First time for everything I guess

How could we forget? They remind us everyday with the sheite that comes outta their mouths.

I'm surprised they didn't portray it as black, socialist, lesbian, vegans with facial piercings (and such) that were the first to land on the moon.... just more weak attempts at historical revisionism.

He looks like a skinny little worm to me.

LOL... C'mon I bet he ruled his HS Drama club like a boss, with an iron fist.

Sounds like a movie that is desperately needing a new title....

.....May I suggest, "The Wrong Stuff".

Or "Double Stuff", or "HR Puffin Stuff"...he's your friend when things get tough!

WOW talk about revisionist history.

What actually happened

Then Capt. Yeager broke the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, flying the X-1 Glamorous Glennis at Mach 1.07 at an altitude of 45,000 ft (13,700 m)

He did it with two broken ribs that he got two nights before when while riding a horse drunk he fell off of it only his wife and Ridley a fellow test pilot knew. He used a section of busted broom stick to gain the leverage required to shut the hatch on the X-1.

He never flew in a SR-71 Blackbird

He flew combat in WWII and Vietnam

Is credited with 11.5 Kills during WWII
