Thanks for posting that website. I foresee several hours of my life spend tracing, "I wonder where that plane is going."

I'm laying here on the boat (spent the night on it with my boys) and since first light there's been a large, round, white object floating in the sky. We're at Foster Lake, near Sweet Home in OR. Crappy cell phone pic but here it is. Has anyone heard anything about one of these?

Do the right thing. Turn around, drop your pants and give them something to take a picture of. Maybe you will be an eye witness to the Chinese attempting a moon landing with one of their balloons.

I think they sent trash in the last one?

I can see this being a trial for small nuke emp's but honestly google earth shows more then they could probably get with a balloon.

Heck, the PUD was able to pull up street view and walk me to where my brothers water shutoff was without anything other then a quick phone call.
The last confirmed Chinese balloon was a sigint (signals intelligence) device, not pictures. Basically a program designed to snoop on radio traffic, everything from communications to radar. This is most likely so they can tune their jamming hardware to more closely match what we are actually using. This is why is was such a big deal that is passed so close to several major military installations.
