Here is a link with a finely detailed image. It will take a moment to download and appear small at first. Click on it to enlarge.

PLEASE READ FIRST:

I am a gun owner, but I have never sold guns before. I am selling these as a favor to a family friend who was recently widowed. I am not particularly savvy to the market, but have been provided a general knowledge of the process through the helpfulness of the member of this board. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

1. The asking price is based on optimum retail valuations as received from members of this board and others. I have erred on the high side, so feel free to PM me with any offers. All offers will be responded to within one week; probably much sooner. Keep in mind that this is a process in which I need to contact my friend with the offers and then respond back.

2. I prefer to only sell to members of this board with a history. In other words, I myself would not qualify as a buyer since I have just joined this board a couple of weeks ago. If you do not have a history on this board, but can show reasonable proof of responsibility, i.e. gun shop owner, history on another board, etc., that should be fine as well.

3. I can only sell to Washington State residents. I will want to see a valid Washington State ID with your picture on it. You can cover your name and address if you want for privacy. I will not record any of your information. My only concern is your resident status. I have been told that guns older than 50 years can be sold legally to out-of-state residents with a particular license. If this applies to you, then burden is on you to supply me with the appropriate information.

4. All buyers will need to meet me within 20 miles of Seattle during daytime hours, preferably at a bank. I am not going to anyone’s private residence, but I will go to a business with public access. Buyers that cannot meet within 20 miles of Seattle will be charged for my mileage and time. I will not be inexpensive on that as I have already spent many hours on this project and am not receiving any compensation.

5. No trades.

6. All descriptions and prices are accurate to the best of my knowledge. If anyone sees any inaccuracies, I would be very interested to know what those would be and would welcome anyone’s input.

Thanks for the advice. That aspect of the transaction was based on advice from people on this forum. It sounded like a good idea since there would be an armed guard nearby present to serve as a deterrent to any "shenanigans". But I realized that I don't think I've seen an armed guard at a bank in some time.

Honestly, I'm trying to think of an exchange in public scenario where it doesn't feel like some sort of illicit deal is going down. My previous gun transactions have always been at a gun store. A person's home would be the most practical, but I can't help but feel that puts me in a vulnerable position should the unlikely occur.

Totally understandable. Best advice i can give ya is too never do a private transaction near any federal or state property, the parking lot of any store that sells firearms(walmart) places like that. Your best bet would be to do a transaction during the day and in a public but not too public place if that makes sense. All you need is for someone to call the police and say they see a "guy with a gun". Been on a few calls like that. But as im a "gun guy" i know that its just someine selling their gun. But i still gotta go and check it out. If yoyr worried you can always have a buddy come along. Most ppl know whats what and very slim chance you will run into trouble. Ask to see a concealed weapons permit. I personally wont do any business with someone unless theu have a permit and i ask to take down there info and when i got to work will run them thru ACCESS to make sure they are clear and valid
