Don't they also have a mandatory law requiring safes including random inspections?

I hope they realize that a national registration system will be the flashpoint for the people to start shooting.

No, there are no random inspections. However, for 'restricted' firearms (handguns, ar-15) they must be stored in a safe, or with trigger locks, or a combination. That said, if the cops are at your place for some other reason -- say you called them because of a break-in -- and they see that your firearms are not stored properly then you can be cited for that.

There is also a lot of drama going on about a recent reclassification of the Swiss Arms and CZ858 reclassification..
