After shooting all 40 rounds, I did not see any swipe marks or anything resembling over pressure. Need to anneal the 40 rounds. Will reload another 10 round ladder of 28.5, 28.7, 28.9, and 29.1gr of CFE223. Will shoot from 100yds so I'd expect more drift.

Why?
  • @Nosferatu's point about better high BC bullets
  • Across several forums, (Accurate Shooter, Sniper's Hide, LRH) the consensus is that the 6 ARC is much easier to tune a load for than the 6.5 G.
  • Cool factor.
I love my Grendels, and I'll bet that the ARC would be an outstanding addition. One day.

@Snip -- cool thread, thanks for sharing!
After I assembled my 6mm ARC , I was very pleased and surprised by how well it did even past 1,000 yards! I went with the Ballistic Advantage 20" SPR contour barrel and so far have been shooting Hornady's 108gr. ELD-M ammo. I still want you to come out to the place where I shoot and you can test drive it for yourself. Below is a target that I engaged at 1,500 yards. I should say that half of the impacts are from my Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm using a NF NX8 2.5-20 and still have more room on the elevation to go a little farther

Nice. Yes, I need to make that time.

But the smaller hits are 6 ARC I'll bet and they are in the low middle
Correct
There's seven hits in the intended point of aim, vicinity of orange and one just under and one towards the left side. There were several other distances that I shot that day with a couple of friends. Here's some ideas of what the other steel look like and size in reference compared to a can of marking paint

I've been wondering if tie plates are suitable for shooting steel. It appears they are.
