Here is my (at the time 12year old) shooting my new to me 500 rifle. He loves shooting the 500 revolver so much he thought this shouldn't be a problem. The thing is, with a revolver you have two hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders to absorb recoil, this thing puts it all into your shoulder. As you can see in the last pic 😂

kmk1012,

That looks like a Henry, but they don't list a single shot rifle in .500...anything.
Did you have this gun modified or is it another make?

Boy, here's a blast from the past (no pun intended)...

That is an early 1920's Winchester Jr. Trap set.
Imagine that.
A whole sport shooting setup, in a box.
Clays, thrower, ammo, shotgun (Model 20), cleaning kit. Even a score card.
No one would even fathom the idea of marketing something like this nowadays.
Beautiful piece of history.
Here's the auction, in case you're interested - https://www.merzantiques.com/product/w1500-winchester-model-20-single-bbl-410-gauge-shot-gun/
In case the model 20 is new to you, here's some information on that gun - http://sparetimeactivities.net/Win20.htm

It is a Rossi variant, I believe it's been discontinued though. Only other option is $$$$ now.
Are you sure that's a Rossi? It looks like a New England Firearms, or poss. branded H&R. With that red front sight, looks like made under Remington ownership just before they quit making them.

Yes, that .500 S&W has some recoil. The barrels on those are like naval guns, you'd think recoil wouldn't be all that bad. These are bringing pretty good money these days, I don't think a whole lot of them were made in .500.

You are correct, it was not a Rossi.

Nothing fancy. This is my line-up of single shot shotguns.

This finally got crossed off my "Must Have" list, a Savage Mod-24V Combo, .243/12 gau over/under! Getting hard to find in good shape, not buggered, but this one seems to be nearly perfect, though haven't ran it yet!

I was wanting a simple 20 gauge to see if I liked it.
The pawn shop had this Century Arms Coach style side by side in 20.
I could not leave it there and it came home with me.

It is just fun to load your shells and then pull the hammers back.
Not expensive and it sends lead down range just fine.
Perfect for one that will get used on targets and pop cans....

Federal used to load a 10 gauge round for Turkey, but it read like the world's greatest Pheasant round.....3 1/2" hull, TWO OUNCES of #6 @ 1300 MV.
Soon as I saw that, I was jonesin' for a 10 ga.
Sadly, they stopped loading that round a few years ago. =(
Nice gun.
Spanish doubles are sweet! Sears Matador is still on my radar.
