I have attended the last 5 years with Long Range Round Table Group.

"We" leave midday Friday and arrive Friday night. Staying at either the Best Western or a local Bed And Breakfast.

Saturday morning we travel up the mountain to a high plateau farm area.
We set up our canopy and tables etc. Sighting with targets and plates at 385 yards begins.
After lunch, practice "Boomers" (small boxes containing a "tannerite type compund) are set up which you mark with your color and pattern.
Shooting commences and you are restricted to only your targets. Oh did I say there are two 4x4 and one 7x7 boomer boxes each.
Anny your strike soundly will explode and create a great white cloud. After about 30 minutes or so, a cease fire is called.
Targets (boomers) are adjusted and an open fire is allowed.
Late in the afternoon after "Cease Fire" is sounded, most folks are heading back to lodging.

BUT the High Intensity Fire Line is set up for those who signed up for it.
Even if you don't participate, it is a hoot to watch.
Shooters are about 50 yards from the berm backstop covered with the remaining Boomer and extras provided for the event.
Upon the command "Open Fire". the firing line starts shooting any and all boomers left.
A buddy brought a 100 round mag and more than 6, 60 round mags and burned through it all.

After we go back and clean up.
Most attend a Banquet and Boomer Shoot presentation.

Sunday morning is started with the annual Boomer Shoot opening ceremony.
You have to be there to appreciate the BOOM that it is.

One year there was an anvil shooter and bowling ball cannons. You just can't tell each year who and what will participate.

When the official Commence Firing command (air horn blast) is sounded. You are free to shoot any boomers you can. Again when the boxes are struck soundly they explode with a LOUD boom and a white cloud. The first berm is 385 yards away, against a hillside.
Beyond that starting at about 600 yards going up to 700 or 750 yards are more boomers. Mostly the larger 7x7 ones.

About 3 or 330, The final "Cease Fire" is sounded and we wrap up our position and pack to head home.

As I said in the beginning. I have been for the last 5 years.

Try it you might like it.
There are still 31 positions available. But if none of these positions are suitable for your needs get on the announcement email list to be notified if a new position becomes available.
